Kayaking

Ski For Light
If snow is your thing, hit the trails with Ski for Light, where blind, low vision, and sighted participants come together for guided cross-country skiing, camaraderie, and plenty of snowy fun.
Blind Posse
Who knew a few friends could make such a difference? Founded by Dr. Stanley Yarnell, the Blind Posse is a grassroots community of blind and low vision museum lovers whose ideas and advocacy have helped make Bay Area museums more accessible. The work continues through a growing network that shares accessible museum tours, art exhibits, performances, and cultural events. To join the mailing list, email access@disabilityculturalcenter.org with your first name, last name, and email address.
San Francisco Fine Arts Museum
Some people don’t usually understand why we go to museums. Sometimes we wonder too, given how many exhibits are still not accessible. But try the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco. If your schedule allows (Access Days is always on Mondays, when most of us are working), sign up for one of their highly descriptive audio tours. You’ll have fun! If you have a group of blind or low vision friends, you can even arrange a guided tour on another day
San Francisco Playhouse
Experience the magic of live theater with audio-described performances and optional haptic access tours. SF Playhouse makes award-inning productions accessible, creating memorable nights out for theater lovers who are blind or have low vision.
Altarena Playhouse
Experience community theater in Alameda with select performances offering audio description and other accessibility services.
This link takes you to information about audio described plays.
Traveleyes
Travel is a lot of fun, especially when you can see the world together. If you like to travel but find it a bit intimidating, Traveleyes might be worth a look. It offers group tours designed for blind and sighted travelers alike. Sighted participants receive reduced fares in exchange for providing descriptions and lending a hand when needed.
